ICE stands for “Immigration and Customs Enforcement”, the purpose of I.C.E is to enforce immigration and custom laws. Ever since the department was founded in 2003, they have been deporting millions of undocumented people and tearing them away from their families. With recent events, I.C.E has been mass deporting people to an extreme, and there have been multiple people who have died at the hands of the agents such as Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. People needlessly dying in the streets and being detained; people nationwide are outraged. There have been protests all across the country against I.C.E and its activities and students have been walking out of their classes to stand up against it. And that includes our very own students from Citrus Valley High School.

On Monday February 9th, students at Citrus Valley High School walked out of school when the lunch bell rang. The students walked out in protest of the recent I.C.E raids nationwide. This walkout was organized by student-run organizations called “The Unnamed Movement” and “Teens Against I.C.E”. About 50-60 students walked out the gates and into the streets to the sidewalk of the Mountain Grove sign on San Bernardino Avenue and Citrus Plaza Drive. There the students demonstrated a peaceful protest on the corner of the street.
